Dr. Kimberly Hefner specializes in infant, pediatric and family eye care. She is chair of public relations for Oklahoma’s chapter of the American Optometric Association’s InfantSee program. This national public awareness campaign educates parents about the importance of infant eye care and encourages them to have their infants’ eye sight tested before the child’s first birthday.

Due to her involvement with InfantSee, Dr. Hefner was one of 15 women in the United States to receive the Make Mine a $Million business award in 2005. This award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurial women and provides them with the necessary resources to grow a million-dollar business. Dr. Hefner plans to use the money she received to further her passion of working with infants and children by purchasing special equipment for use with her youngest patients.

Dr. Hefner has more than 14 years of experience in optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association. She founded the Hefner Eye Care and Optical Center in March 2006. Dr. Hefner has been a member of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, and served as president of its Oklahoma Central District. She is also involved with Vision USA, an OAOP sponsored program that provides free vision services to those with low income and no insurance.

Dr. Hefner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Oklahoma City University in 1986. She is a 1991 graduate of the College of Optometry at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla.
